Introductions:
- Personal update & what draws you to a discussion about accountability?
- Our initial concept for building an accountability forum is kind of tied into building a local psychedelic directory. Consenting participants of this directory would be open to this feedback/accountability platform as to not “out” people in the space.
- We want to bring community into his discussion and the creation of the platform as it would be a platform for all of us to use. We are curious if this is a platform you see needed in the community and how to curate a healthy, effective forum.
Questions:
- As this conversation continues to develop, we question how would we address sexual assault allegations. Do we investigate further than sharing the review?
- How to manage reviews we know not to be true?
- How and should people address reviews about them?
- How can we integrate accountability systems into underground psychedelic spaces?
- What rules & regulations should be implemented within an accountability Forum?
- What risks come with establishing an accountability forum?
- What questions or concerns do you have about a psychedelic accountability forum?
- How do we prevent the forum from being used as a tool for cancel culture, false narratives, and other harm?
Notes:
- We should allow comments for both ends to protect both sides
- Moderators get changed out every month: Fresh set of eyes, having trainings for moderators, have a guideline, anyone can be a moderator, collective responsibility,
- Good leaders know how to grow the team and elevate peoples strengths
- Only moderating the serious allegations
- What is a serious allegation?
- The reviewer can say if they want it to be reviewed
- Each community can handle how they manage an allegation so you can see how this community handles their allegations- tribalism, like how states have their own laws
- We can have this platform for our own community and slow others to use our blueprint
- End of year, thorough transparent review of each organization- audit
- Clear guidelines for our organization
- The goal is bringing community together, having formal record of patterns/events that happen in community, system of harm reduction, platform for information to be shared
- Open to all events related to mn psychedelic space
- Something separate from online- making clear that there is a live community here and promoting that vs online space
- Open source decision making
- People can click to view more of a serious allegation and then see the review process
- Could turn into a tmz situation
- View platform as a tool as to not over engineer social behavior
- Serious allegations are not public
- Reviews available upon request
- Serious reviews having an open forum for the person to respond
- Being able to review mushrooms as people
- Potentially only for serious allegations
