Introductions:
- What is your name and what brings you here today
- This is a space where we practice respectful conversation and welcome all perspectives to be explored. we appreciate diversity of thought and rather than telling others they are wrong, we dive into that activation a little deeper and explore the differences in opinion, our own lived experience and how that may impact our belief system. This is a space of learning from one another and you may feel activated by some of the opinions so let’s remember that that is natural and the floor is open to talk about that and explore it.
- We have three questions that go along with this theme and and I’ve been hearing about spiritual bypassing for a wile now and came a cross a post (by @modernpsychedelics) that had a clear definition I could relate to, it reads:
Some people will displace dealing with their emotions by putting all their energy into finding the spiritual truth. [This is called] a spiritual bypass.
It’s alluring to tap out of the human experience in lieu of chalking everything up as a spiritual experience.
Spiritual bypassing might sound like “everything happens for a reason” or “there is a greater purpose to this.” While there is some truth to this, it’s just one side of the coin.
While it is empowering to choose to view everything as meaningful, it can be dangerous when we create meaning that bypasses our very real human experience.
Before rushing to the big spiritual picture, tend to the truth of what you are going through. We are all here on Earth having a human experience, therefore the most spiritual thing we can do is be HUMAN.

- What is not projection? Are we ever NOT projecting?
- Is the opposite of projection authenticity?
- Can projection ever be inauthentic?
- It’s always subconscious when projecting
- Positive projections
- context of our language matters
What is spiritual bypassing and how how have we personally observed it?
- Spiritualism is becoming narcissism particularly amongst men
- Why is it particular to men?
- US in particular we have history of toxic hyper masculinity
- How do we define spirituality from religion?
- Religion tried to define spirituality
- Religion is control
- Spirituality is more connected to free will ~ respect
- Religion is confined
- Spirituality is always growing and evolving and religion is set in stone
- Spirituality is the belief and religion is the practice
- Religion has been twisted into something it was not meant to be in lieu of power
- When you’re tied to so many labels you can project onto others with that tribalistic
- To manifest what you want you have to go about it in a way that doesn’t harm anything else
- Will karmic energy negatively impact you if you unintentionally harm someone else
- The less you hurt yourself the less you hurt others
- Pressure on ourself to “know”
- Do we actually know what’s good and bad?
- You need to be grounded to be open safely otherwise you will be constantly swayed by your openness and the infinite possibilities
- If you don’t stand for anything what will you fall for
- Greatest gift from the divine is the ability to feel
- Spiritual bypassing is not acknowledging the feeling and looking for something else
- Bypassing is defense mechanisms
- Natural human tendency to assign meaning
- Maybe chaos is just our lack of understanding in that moment
